Many of Dr Rayhrer’s images are created with alcohol inks. They pop with color but are difficult to control for detail. The unexpected nature of the colors as they bloom and blend add a spontaneity to the art. “They drive me crazy” says Dr. Rayhrer about the inks. “I like control but the inks have a mind of their own. They are an exercise in letting go.”

Many owners of Dr. Rayhrer’s works find joy in the colorful abstract nature of her art. “Nature is sometimes unpredictable so I find the inks are a perfect way to celebrate the element of surprise inherent in the natural world".

Dr Rayhrer likes to work on her pieces early in the morning before surgery, or after work at the end of a long day. “It’s my yoga: peaceful, calm.”
